Iron Age frog mystery...

Given that they cannot find any butchery marks, but the frogs could have been boiled, maybe an Iron Age British philosopher's paradoxical research station?

Any sign of  an Iron Age princess resident on site?  As is well known, to find a prince, a girl has to kiss a lot of frogs.
