Title: Mamluk Mail
Post by: Keraunos on October 06, 2023, 06:29:56 PM
Issue 8 of Medieval World has an article on the battle of Marj Dabiq.  One of the illustrations is of a suit of Mamluk mail armour, said to be one of only 4 remaining.  Photograph attached.  I am amazed that it did not ru st away given the conditions under which it was made  ;)

Some years ago, I came across this example in the Doha Museum of Islamic Art.

Again, remarkably rust free - The wonders of modern preservation.
