Title: The Oldest Sword in Poland
Post by: Patrick Waterson on March 20, 2016, 10:04:32 PM
As part of an ongoing (from 2008) dig at the Gorzyca burial grounds, some quite good bronze weaponry from the 'Tumulus culture' of Bronze Age central Europe has been uncovered.  Article here (http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/poland-3600-year-old-cemetery-reveals-life-tumulus-warrior-community-1550380).

Direct link to a picture of the oldest sword in Poland here (https://d.ibtimes.co.uk/en/full/1500440/sword.jpg?w=736).  Any comments on the style?

"More investigations will be carried out, before the end of the year, when the archaeologists hope to publish a review explaining what function each objects performed in the context of the Tumulus culture."  So hopefully watch this space.
