Ever wanted to understand why The Roman Empire fell in under 13 minutes?

Strangely absorbing if not entirely riveting BUT its a very quick overview without havent to do all that tedious reading of Gibbon et al :)

Reading all of Gibbon takes longer than the Roman Empire did to actually fall.

I presumed the 13 minutes was a reference to Adrianople...

Thanks for the link Dave. I found the 13 minutes of the Decline and Fall of Rome to be mildly entertaining. On a side note, I found reading Josephus to be more tedious than Gibbon.

I did actually quite enjoy it Chuck. Bitesize history for dummies like me is always a useful summary when I lack the time or inclination to do serious proper research  :-[
