One of the reviews is pretty damning, "I thought I should alert potential purchasers to a very negative review of this work in the journal The Scottish Historical Review. It includes the following: "This raises serious questions regarding the editorial procedures followed and concern must be expressed regarding the impact of the work on potential readers". Much of the review lists errors and outdated concepts/information.
Normally I would have bought a book like this, but I have decided not to based on the above."
