We're a long way away from grant funding bodies, "A total of £650,000 in grants have been given to historic places in the North West throughout the past year,"
St Leonard's Church in Flamstead, Hertfordshire, got £750,000 on its own.

Gleaston Castle is interesting, apparently it was jerry built and was falling down even as they were finishing it.
I know the chap who farms there, to say he gets no help from anybody is probably exaggerating the help he gets

I loved the way when you looked at the building (inside) you could see the traces of how people had tweaked things over the centuries to go with how they wanted to use it  8)
