Appending a Pompeiian epithet seems fashionable: the unearthed remains of incinerated buildings at Peterborough we considered earlier are now being referred to as a 'Bronze Age Pompeii'.

for anyone interested in the area in general then 'Roman Provence' by Edwin Mullins is very accessible and enjoyable - a cross between a travelogue and a history of the area
