Interesting article. I hadn't realised the Dendur temple in the NY Met had "sister" temples at other museums (in Madrid, Leiden and Turin).

The story about the man in NY being dumbfounded on being told the temple was over 500 years old reminds me of a trip to the Natural History Museum in London. At the end of the dinosaur exhibition, which was illustrated by a number of robots, there was a "sleeping" young robot dinosaur in a glass cube. A lady next to us pronounced at length as to how cruel it was to keep it in such a confined space.
