some very nice pieces there. Not sure about the young man in a military uniform bit though...?

The report on that seemed a bit confused.  At a guess, given the period, the grave also included a belt set, which would identify the wearer as holding a military position?  Though the detail suggests they think administrative rank, rather than field service.
