Interesting, thanks. I've come across references to bast for shoes - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bast_shoe for instance -  but not as far as I recall for clothing.

Oddly enough I was listening to an audio book of a captive's account of life with a NW American tribe in the 1700s.  He noted how bark was prepared to make clothing.
