Post by: Duncan Head on January 15, 2014, 08:59:37 AM
The London Wall skulls are too late to be Boudiccan but might be from the amphitheatre - http://www.theguardian.com/science/2014/jan/15/london-skulls-roman-head-hunters (http://www.theguardian.com/science/2014/jan/15/london-skulls-roman-head-hunters)

I was interested to see the skulls belonged to young men. Could they have been a raiding warband that was put down?

Could be, if their excellencies are wrong about their timing estimates:

Although pits of body parts have been found in Britain, the London skulls, deposited over several decades, are an unprecedented find from the Roman capital.

The 'several decades' bit seems to be what led them to the amphitheatre conclusion.
