Strangely absorbing if not entirely riveting BUT its a very quick overview without havent to do all that tedious reading of Gibbon et al :)
Strangely enough, I enjoyed all that tedious reading of Gibbon et. al.
meant purely tongue in cheek (the tedious bit) :)
I thought it took years.

The fall of the Empire or reading Gibbon? ;)
Reading all of Gibbon takes longer than the Roman Empire did to actually fall.
I presumed the 13 minutes was a reference to Adrianople...
13 minutes is my attention span for stuff like this
;)
Thanks for the link Dave. I found the 13 minutes of the Decline and Fall of Rome to be mildly entertaining. On a side note, I found reading Josephus to be more tedious than Gibbon.
I did actually quite enjoy it Chuck. Bitesize history for dummies like me is always a useful summary when I lack the time or inclination to do serious proper research :-[
