Have you ever been to the seaside in the South Dave? Cockle and whelk stalls were plentiful, I recall from childhood beach holidays.

I can remember Cockle stalls on the Yorkshire coast from the 1970s
They were also popular in places like Hunstanton and Mablethorpe (popular day trips for Northants folk in the 60s and 70s).
I'd forgotten about cockles!
