what a find
"The boar-headed wind instrument, known as a Carnyx, was once used to strike fear into soldiers in bloody battles almost 2,000 years ago. "
It's tiny. I can't see it striking fear into anyone. It's quite twee really.
Perhaps its a ritual model of the real thing - we know they used models of shields and weapons.
it is a little bit smallish.....maybe Iron Age hobbits used it?
Perhaps they were protowargamers....

"Miniature trumpet", says one of the experts quoted - so they seem yto think it's model, perhaps comparable to all those bronze miniature shields.
