I am at this point reminded of a creation of my teenage daughter many years ago - the Invisible Monkey Army.  The IMA, under their indominatable leader Phil, were tasked with keeping the streets of our "village" free of bears and wolves.   When challenged on how we knew the IMA existed, given we couldn't see it, my daughter asked "Have you seen any bears or wolves recently?"  So, while Hathor could have been kept on side, it is just possible that Egyptians would have managed the begetting side of things OK anyway :)

Me I'm with the IMA.
After all, they're polite, efficient and cost me nothing.
What more can a chap ask?
