Harpole again! I saw that they had found the outline of the silver cross on the Digging for Britain TV prog last weekend. This central garnet is very striking.

A good week for jewellery finds, given the Roman stuff dug out of the bath drains at Carlisle.

Is it jewellery?  The cross is about 25cm across in each direction.  Without find context it is hard to know what it may have been part of.  Fascinated to find out though.

Fair point, should have said jewels.  Though I think the Roman Carlisle finds can safely be classed as jewelry since they were lost at the baths.
