Title: A Frankish warrior burial
Post by: Erpingham on September 03, 2023, 07:32:19 PM
Here's another short note (https://www.medievalists.net/2023/09/early-medieval-warriors-remains-discovered-in-germany/) about a nice burial find from Germany.  Skeletal preservation is very good, as apparently is the sword.  Secondary weapons of a Breitsax - a broad-bladed sax - and a "lance" which has a very long head - an angon?

Although they have not yet done the pathology report, he seems to have a penetrating wound between the eyes which doesn't look post mortem.

Wasn't that the cover of one of the WRG rulesets?  Or perhaps one of their army lists?
