Sadly, I have not been following the forum since the beginning of August between vacation (now) and getting work done before going; so apologies if this has been mentioned. This may be of particular interest to Mr Hollins
"Academia has invited you to join the discussion of The Mumble's paper " Mount Agnet & Mount Badon: King Arthur's Campaign in the Lothians, 516 A.D. (https://www.academia.edu/t/fDpYb-RjUXjD9-bs1GBB/s/5ad158b52c?source=ai_email)".
The case is getting stronger for placing Agnet & Badon near Edinburgh, 516 AD."
If you can't get to it, let me know. I am not enjoying all this heat you have on at the moment.

I am somehow irresistibly reminded of scholarship of a previous generation where Gog and Magog were summoned forth from almost forgotten literature to prove that the world would end in a great battle to be fought on the plains of Megiddo (which as everybody knows is Armageddon) and the world would end at some point in the 1970s
welcome to the 70s!

Those attending the conference only need go a couple of miles south of Cambridge to find them, masquerading as a couple of hills.
OK, it's Cambridgeshire - a couple of small bumps in the road.
One does boast a hill fort, however.

To be fair to Cambridge, if you needed a hill fort, you took the hill you could get ;)
The hills in Cambridgeshire are often called islands.

Sounds squelshy. Am I being unfair imagining the Ouse as a very muddy river?

Being a northern boy, one thing I really miss around here is the streams. There are very few, and those few are all rubbish.

They must be downstream of one of Southern Water's sewage treatment plants.
