Yes, interesting. The small shield and shoulder strap is very clear - reminiscent of the Aberlemno 2 stone. The weapon over the shoulder is intriguing. A winged spear, perhaps?
Add: I've been looking some more at this figure. It would appear that what look like wings on a spear are what the excavators are calling a "flowing pony tail". Unfortunately, the head is damaged, so hard to be sure what we are looking at. I think I would still be thinking a spear rather than a sword for the weapon, because of the length, though sword on shoulder poses are quite common in early medieval art (e.g. the Aberlemno 2 stone again).
