One for the medievalists...
Shame though that Mr Clausen does not realise (or has been misreported) that Ptolemy equals the Greek (well, Macedonian) dynasty that once ruled Egypt.
If the map fetches what is asked, this will yield a handsome ROI. One wonders how this rare artifact could be so misappraised.

Well, no. Claudius Ptolemy the geographer lived in the 2nd century AD, and when "Clausen believes the chart's author conflated Ptolemy with a dynasty of Greek kings who had ruled Egypt", I'd say he was quite correct: Ptolemy the map-maker is not the same as the Ptolemaic dynasty.

Good point, well made, obviously read too hastily (coffee break in office) and missed the reference to Claudius P!
