Title: It's probably not the oldest building in the world...
Post by: Duncan Head on December 16, 2023, 05:18:23 PM
A published paper claims that the Gunung Padang site in Java is the world's oldest pyramid and could be 25,000 years old. But then again:

One of the experts quoted is named Flint Dibble.  Clear evidence that this monument is the work of the Flintstones, I reckon.

Ah, Hancock.  Always amusing to read, and sometimes helpfully provocative, but...  8)

I think he means Graham, rather than Tony.  Or Matt, for that matter.

Definitely referring to Graham.

As for Tony, well I do live in Cheam... (Sadly, East Cheam has not existed since the early 19th century when the old manors of East and West became excessively archaic.  The old manor estate of East Cheam became the site of Cheam School, where Churchill's father and the late Duke of Edinburgh went to school before it decamped in the 1930s to a new site near Aldersmaston!)

As for Dr Flint Dibble, he definitely exists and is studying "foodways" in ancient Crete:
