I went a couple of years ago and had a good chat with the people from the Mortimer Society and the De Montfort Soc. Vaguely thought about going this year but forgot to check the date.

If I'm being really picky, various people seem to have based their de Montfort on the one in the Osprey on French armies - but that is the Simon of the Albigensian Crusades. Hence the face mask helmets and long shields of the early 13th rather than the full helm and smaller heater of the late-ish 13th.
I do feel somewhat mean-spirited to say it, and they are doing a lot more to popularise the period than I ever will!
