Interesting that this armour was found where it was. I know it was linked to the Dacian wars and people with really powerful slashing weapons. I wonder it if should give us pause if we think that that Picts etc were just armed with simple spears etc

Saw it in the BM show earlier this year - a very nice piece.

I think the general view now is that such armours were a fair bit more widespread than the "Dacian falx" inspiration might suggest.

a chopping weapon is a chopping weapon...long 'Celtic' swords spring to mind
