A quick whip round...
The price of churches can be very variable. I remember one in Cumbria going for £1 because of difficult access, a shared drive and no other access.
Actually in Carlisle diocese for good causes the diocese will discuss a 125 year lease for £1 per year, on demand.
(It's 125 years because if you have the traditional 99 year lease then the landowner is responsible for ensuring the building keeps up with energy and environmental ratings, which means that the landowner has potentially to spend a lot of money therefore has to charge a rent, which brings them under the fair rent regulations which is another nightmare)
You are very knowledgeable on the subject Jim....do you have a portfolio of churches on the go? :)
