This research came up in one of my feeds earlier.  The paper is published in Science Advances and can be read at Late Archaic large-scale fisheries in the wetlands of the pre-Columbian Maya Lowlands (https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.adq1444).   Interesting.  Much before the Late Mayan period.
