So, if I have read things correctly, it all started when Aphrodite was discovered in flagrante delecto with Ares by her husband Hephaestus.  How does she decide to expunge this minor embarrassment?  Make all the women of Lemnos kill all the men!

Talk about kicking the dog...

A pretty standard 'cover-up attempt.' Get caught, take it out on innocent bystanders to try and get rid of any witnesses and three thousand years later people are still talking about the salacious details

Slightly off-topic, but this book (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kicking-Dogs-Collin-Piprell-ebook/dp/B003OUXDB6/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3JE764PNP2ZAN&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.7XJxDTFM3q8kpnvtD66-RYDkZcVulBIM6ZBjE0lvbGdFI-5AC_KTezwXwxbAy_1rRc94LM3xQj3OhLkzxX7_fyTzACZ7y9V4YOKDOOFKbyz5LVi-SP5YkWbwh9-SngoN97KFUMJdghpyVuSJwddoNs-Iyf1NK8Po0vz-W8Rs4T5hmAFl6ie8nf0jzomUj-1efo4vTKQ-6HSIvRipM0JYhw.sBFeiC4feelr6-LpMgZZoi1QtK44G_q7_Q4PG9Npil4&dib_tag=se&keywords=kicking+dogs&nsdOptOutParam=true&qid=1732717024&s=books&sprefix=kicking+dogs%2Cstripbooks%2C74&sr=1-1) is worth getting someone as a stocking filler, especially if you are confident of reading it before they get the chance.

Remember, it is only a catastrophe if you think you can control everything.
