My opponent in the most recent test of my slowly blossoming naval rules has turned his photographs of the game into a video which may be found here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooOt0aLfxQY).
Nice work 👏
I like the orders system.

I am happy with how it is working out. The clarity that having a grid provides makes it possible to manage complex manoeuvres even with simultaneous movement through a simple set of orders.

It has a grid? Not obvious in the video.
It has a grid. A subtle one. See the two discrete dark dots either side of the record card in the picture below.

It is, perhaps, a little too subtle ::)
I might buy a blue pen with a thicker point to make the points clearer.
Great stuff - one question - am I correct that the game is representational in that each squadron is actually more than three ships? There are twelve on the card and you count casualties here rather than removing ships.

Yes, that is right. The number of ships on the base is usually 3 - for anything from Trieres up to Octores. My Deceres models are much bigger so only 2 go easily on a squadron base. The smaller ships can have four or five on a base comfortably. The squadron itself can represent anything from a swarm of 20 or more small boats up to five or six big brutes. To manage things I assign a score to each ship type and have a rule that no one squadron can have more than 24 points worth of ships on it. If you are running a campaign in which you want to track everything, you can do so. If just wanting a pick up game you can have a bunch of preset squadrons and use those.
