Title: Post-script of Alexander's battle tactics
Post by: philjones62 on February 25, 2025, 10:53:40 AM
Unfortunately I can't use the search engine to see if this has been mentioned.  I think I lured Mr Hollis into the mire of academia.com.  Now apparently I'm an expert on hellenistic warfare.  Anyway, I think she is converting her thesis into a number of articles. A quick scan of respondents only identified the inestimable Mr James.

Buyer beware and all that.

The brief title of this thread shown on the main page reads "Post-script of Alexa.." I opened it expecting it to be about use of AI in wargaming.  "Alexa, tell me what to do to beat Huns in DBA".  ::)

The lady is quite touchy. Already threatened to delete my posts and block me if she feels I am pursuing my own agenda. Oh dear. I suspect it is because I disagreed with her on the (non)professionalism of the Spartan army and her position on the inability of the Macedonian HC to charge HI. Can anyone tell me what the purpose of these discussions is?

Perhaps you are arguing with an AI, in which case there is no point  ::)

If you're reduced to commenting on an author's looks, rather than their argument, you've already lost?

No, on an AI's looks. I've already commented on the author's arguments.

I've been asking myself the same question Justin. You claim you cannot for the time being answer my questions, due to the launch of Optio, and yet, here you are posting busily on a few forums. At first, I thought you would answer a few of my questions and avoid those questions you would find confrontational, but now I believe I am being intentionally ignored.

Sigh....no, I am not intentionally ignoring you. I just don't feel motivated to reply to article-long posts with more article long posts. OK, I'll break it down, reply to parts at a time. Hang in there.
