That map of Attila's empire is ... a tad speculative.

(Hedeager and Högström might approve of the inclusion of southern Scandinavia, though.)

The findings reported in the article seem to confirm what the current view of the Huns and their relationship to the Xiongnu broadly is (as I understand it).

Agree with Andreas on the map  ;D  Mind you, any map of most "steppe empires" is likely to be really showing something more akin to a zone of influence than an empire as we would usually see them IMO.

often with overlapping zones of influence from competing (especially) nomads  :)
