(For those outside UK a toilet made of gold, supposed to be an artwork was pinched from Blenheim palace and melted down, can't condone the crime but at least they had taste. I don't think it is more than an upmarket version of Klimpt's urinal from over a hundred years ago)

A thing of boring ordinariness that has become a key point in the history of art. Incidentally, the original was binned after the original exhibition it was intended for - it wasn't recognised as a great artistic statement until later, when Duchamp was persuaded to create authenticated copies for galleries.
