It as an excellent explainer. There have been many Ancients board games over the years, they just didn't make the author's list.

I remember my Avalon Hill games - still have a copy of Panzerblitz.

Curiosity got the better of me and I downloaded the Blitzkrieg ruleset and Vassal module. Now to find a player....
