Part of a series called medieval dead, this has featured a couple of battlefield archaeology programmes, one on Agincourt and the other on Masterby.  Masterby is village in Gotland where a skirmish occurred during the Danish invasion of 1361.

While it does feature the usual "army of a dozen blokes", there is more in this one than the Agincourt one.  Lots of finds for a start.  The archaeology is quite interesting, there are numerous views around the museum related to the battle of Visby which took place a couple of days later and they come infuriatingly close to reconstructing the course of a battle for which they have no historical record.  I was crying out for them to marry up the map of the landscape before land drainage and the find distribution map, I'll tell you.

So, one to watch for medieval fans, if only to see lots of iconic Visby armour images.

Still at the time of writing on the Yesterday website here http://yesterday.uktv.co.uk/shows/medieval-dead/watch-online/#2803162153001

I also tracked down a report on the work, which shows a lot of finds and the finds distribution map you glimpse in the film

Var snäll och prata långsammare, jag pratar väldigt lite svenska.

Tack så mycket.
