I suppose this leaves us with the question of how the unit strengths (or rather intended establishments) and organisation compare with Aelian.  As ever, ploughing through a couple of layers of academic conclusions on top of the primary sources brings up a few shards but not much of a crop.

A pity, as I thought we were on to something here.
