I never realised that there are hybrid Arab/Bactrian dromedaries.  Apparently they are a lot stronger than either type of pure bred.  Anyway, little article on possible hybrids amongst the reliefs carved at Hatra.  https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/antiquity/article/iconographic-evidence-of-hybridisation-between-camelus-bactrianus-and-camelus-dromedarius-at-secondcentury-ad-hatra-iraq/A4DECADBFE3919190B9E14E78CA290F7

Now we know how they were able to have those super heavy cataphract camels...  8)

We've touched on hybrid camels before - inspired by an Ottoman camel skeleton, see http://soa.org.uk/sm/index.php?topic=1690  - but this new article is certainly interesting. Thanks.

So, do the progeny of such breeding programs have 1, 2 or 1½ humps?

One and a half, apparently.

One large hump with a very distinct dimple or cleft like Kirk or Michael Douglas' chin...
