Except for gold I wonder what kind of metal working they did. Any weapons?

Interesting...

Of interest to me.

Chimu worked in gold, silver, copper, bronze.  Their fertility artifacts in metal and blackware pottery are well-known.

Hi John,
There have been metals knives found but most are of the ceremonial Tumi variety.  The MET has a metal atlatl on display but that is not bronze.  There must be other examples but I do not recall seeing any on my last visit to Peru.  Most weapons have points made from volcanic rock that have been knapped into arrowheads/spearheads. The shafts are missing.  There are bronze breastplates but these are (again) most likely ceremonial.

Thanks Jon, perhaps metals were of such high value that it would be unkthinkable to use them in warfare...
