I've had time to run my eye over some of this and it took me a while but i suddenly remembered where I had red very similar prose and arguments but it was in the mid seventies struggling through Immanuel Velikovsky's works Worlds in Collision and Ages in chaos - It is all set up to be very plausible but I knew a little of both the Bible and science so I tried to learn more and it was soon apparent that leaving out the circular arguments left a house of cards. As a consequence I didn't bother to read Erich von Däniken's books but did attend a lecture at Cardiff University where one of the Archology team had done extensive work in the same area as some of Von Däniken's evidence - he took his own versions of the same photos - straightened up and pulled back they become obvious natural features not laser carved by spacemen! - Ignore this rubbish.

Going back to the Roman circus in Colchester - which I have a couple of times as I live there - whilst being of historical importance, it is not much of a site so any improvements would be welcome.

like many such sites, as you say, any improvement would be a start

Indeed so.  Velikovsky also immediately came to my mind, both for the subject matter and the style.  In this case, it doesn't matter much - we can shake our heads and walk on.

Anyway, back to Colchester ......
