Drama is traditionally history with a twist.  The trick is to recognise what is twist and what is history.

I get the impression they are saving this plot line for series 3, along with development of the Aethelflaed character from Daddy's sweet little girl into someone who slaughters vast numbers of Vikings whilst dispensing cutting wit on the subject of her husband's ability to father children.


But as they say, it ain't over 'til the fat lady sings.
