In historical terms, this is a fairly recent cheese.

However Ptahmes served for quite a long time in the 19th Dynasty, and his cheese would have had plenty of opportunity to mature.  Upon his demise, there was probably only one place it could go without making itself seriously noticeable - in his tomb. ;)
