Currently I've found myself reading a lot about the West Highland - Irish connection.  Having just finished Katherine Simms Gaelic Ulster in the Middle Ages I'm now onto Sean Duffy's World of the Gallowglass.  There, I came across an interesting footnote to one of the poems used in evidence.  The poem contains the line "were under tribute to King Arthur, from whom you sprang". 

It's addressed to Mac Cailein Mór.  I've known for some years that Clan Campbell claimed Arthur as an ancestor. 

I didn't know that Celtica issue 23 1999 carried an article by William Gillies on "The British genealogy of the Campells".  I wonder if anyone here has read it?  If not, and you enjoy a bit of Gaelic scholarship, here it is.
