In case anyone is wondering, the reason MOD has a small station there is that it conducts the radar safety monitoring for the Hebridean missile ranges.  The archaeological expeditions which have going on for decades, on and off, are always very welcome for the soldiers there as they always over estimate their chances of getting a leg over with a nubile female undergrad whilst drinking at the island's only hostelry, the imaginatively named Puff Inn...

They would have a much better chance in the other St Kilda, the one in Melbourne noted for drugs, hookers and a mediocre AFL team.
