Would be opinion changing as there has been suggestions never actually happened. However a favourite of mine just for the speeches. 8)

Sorry, unable to read this article as it is behind a paywall.

Have they discovered the lectern from which the various rousing speeches were made?  This would surely be the clincher for any proposed location.

I do confess to having once answered a survey question as to who made the most positive contribution to Scots culture: I suggested Cnaeus Iulius Agricola. Very naughty I know.

Presumably, the book has some evidence in it?  Because the article (the one I have access to) suggests that the author has "found" a site others had "found" previously.

Not Septimius Severus? He turned them into a gentle and peaceloving folk for the next century or so.

Bennachie does seem reasonable. The Romans camp on the coast somewhere north of Aberdeen where they can be supported by the fleet, and the Caledonians take up position on the first bit of decent high ground inland.
