Richard J-C has mentioned the existence of this upcoming boardgames event in two threads. Whilst recognising that it is still six months or more away, can anyone tell us what the Society, as one of the event's sponsors, is hoping to showcase at the event?

I stayed at the Europa for a night a few years back prior to flying from Gatwick. Seemed an odd sort of place to me but I can see it could be useful for this sort of event.

SquareBash will focus on military boardgames.  The Society publishes a collection of board games and the sponsorship offers the opportunity to demo and sell these and promote the Society to an audience that may not be familiar with us or what we offer.

The decision to sponsor the event was taken by the Committee at my proposal.

The event has already sold over sixty tickets (with six months to go) with plenty more space available.

I will be looking for someone to help run the stand.  They will get a free ticket (which includes lunch and teas/coffees).  Accommodation at the hotel is also available at a discounted price.
