Title: New Kingdom Egyptians v Sea Peoples TACTICA 2
Post by: simonw on January 23, 2023, 10:49:03 PM
New Kingdom Egyptians beat off the invading Sea Peoples again! 2 nil to Egypt. Next week the Sea Peoples will be under new leadership. The Sea People army is new and quite distinctive and we are still figuring how to use it. The Egyptian army is relatively familiar by comparison. You can spot the critical  manoeuvre on the photos if you look closely.

Mark,

We have devised some special rules for them which are summarised in the army list (which we have also devised). The attached .xls file includes it.

Last night's Sea Peoples v New Kingdom Egyptian Tactica 2 game was the third and resulted in a winning draw for the Egyptians; mainly due to the poor dice rolling by the Sea Peoples. The Sea Peoples battleplan was actually implemented pretty well with the battle wagon unit rumbling steadily forward on their right; protecting the end of their infantry line and beating off a few desultory Egyptian 'holding' attacks. On the Sea Peoples left flank, the Libyan Warband defended that flank pretty successfully against the opposing array of Egyptian chariotry using the rough ground and wit the support of the single Sea Peoples chariot unit. However, in the centre the Sea \Peoples Foot and Warbands just didn't roll well enough to break through the Egyptian line. The Egyptian FV3-6 line archers again fought valiantly and greatly exceeded their melee combat expectations.
