Anyone done a review or report of proceedings at the 'King in the North' event in York?

I am out of touch with many 'ancients' rule sets and that includes this set AdlG. I have participated in one multi player game put on by some fans of AdlG but to my mind it combined too many charts and factors like an old 1st edition WRG ancients with many newer mechanisms to give a ponderous game, where similar outcomes could have been achieved with simpler rule sets. But happy to be pointed to articles or reviews that suggest the benefits of these rules.
