Optio is designed to use army lists from other popular rulesets (the players of course must own those lists beforehand) although it does have lists of its own. This enables players to use the armies they have. There are a few necessary rules tweaks, especially for smaller armies like those in DBA. Here's a battle report using DBA's Alexandrine Macedonian and Late Achaemenid Persian armies, duking it out at Issus. The game IMHO replicated history remarkably. You can see it here (https://optio.freeforums.net/thread/11/battle-issus-using-armies-adapted).

works well Justin and looks historical as you point out. nice
Is there a trick to making the report move on to the next period Justin?
The "next" button didn't seem to generate any action for me.

You can download the pdf and then open it in Acrobat Viewer or something similar and use your Page Up / Page Down keys on your keyboard to scroll through the pages (or just use the mouse wheel).
