Irish Warriors at the battle of Dún Nechtain?

While looking for something else I came across this.  In it the author proposes Irish warriors took part in the Pictish defeat of the Northumbrians at the battle of Dún Nechtain. It is an interesting theory.

My very thought Dave.  I've ordered some from Donnington. 

It might well be right too.  Charles-Edwards sees Flann Fina Mac Osui arriving with Irish troops when he inherited the Northumbrian throne.

I'm always interested to see how Iona involves itself in the politics of the time.
