Song onwards (?)

Mainly as I am interested in any recommendations people have for 25/28mm Ming Chinese....
Currently aware of:

  • Irregular Miniatures - picture of some figures on the web site
  • SHQ miniatures - no pictures on web.  Understand figures are based on the Medieval Chinese Osprey
  • Scheltrum miniatures - no pictures on web
  • Cavalcade miniatures - small range of Ming with pictures
  • Curteys miniatures - Song range with pictures

Anyone have any recommendations....

if it helps, the SHQ range were originally from Newline Designs. So looking at their site might give an indication of design style. I find them smaller and slightly static. I only remember the Han Range though

As I recall the Scheldrum miniature were sculpted by Martin Baker. if you put in Scheltrum Ming in to google images then they look a little rough.

I like the Curteys range, althought some might say jolly dwarves. IMHO they are characterful, and look to paint up well.

Ral Partha used to make Song Chinese, but they are probably hard to track dowm. They would be small and fine..

The Assault Group  make Song too - http://www.theassaultgroup.co.uk/store/home.php?cat=58
