Title: Shipping and the Northern Crusades
Post by: Erpingham on February 14, 2023, 05:20:36 PM
An interesting PhD thesis on Maritime Logistics in the Age of the Northern Crusades (https://www.academia.edu/63899634/Maritime_Logistics_in_the_Age_of_the_Northern_Crusades) by Daniel Zwick.  This is a very book-like thesis in presentation, consisting of a main body and reprints of five separately published papers.  The summary says

"This study examines the maritime organisation of predominantly Danes and Germans in the period of the Northern Crusades, which includes navigation and orientation, fleet organisation, but also shipbuilding and the establishment of a maritime trade network and other maritime-related infrastructure."
