As it was originally published in 1990, I'd be surprised it contained anything we haven't seen before  :) I agree, though, it is still an interesting read.  One thing about its age that stood out for me is the effort he takes to confront the "modern Norman superiority over the backward Saxons" myth and even oppose White's Stirrup theory.  These are so out-of-favour these days, I doubt anyone would bother anymore.
