Title: Experimental archaeology on ancient warfare
Post by: PMBardunias on April 23, 2021, 04:53:01 PM
I recently gave a pair of talks at experimental archaeology conferences. In the age of COVID, I had to record these, so I posted them on Youtube.  I thought some might enjoy.

I'm never sure about that term.

It always makes me imagine archaeologists cutting lines of sub stratum clay out on the back of a trowel and snorting to get a hit from the earth of the dig.

Or smoking some crushed pottery shards, or some such.

You know, the sort of thing you would expect academically trained folk to experiment with on a dig

I Normally study animal swarm behavior, so I am really just studying human animals.

swarm behaviour is a good term for it!
